How long does it take to apply?Applying
About fifteen minutes, in three short steps, and you can do it all on your phone. There's no account to create. If you stop part-way, we still have your details and somebody will call you.
Do I need delivery experience?Applying
No. We teach the job properly — orientation, two Amazon classroom days, supervised road time, then a few weeks where your stop count builds gradually — and the coaching keeps going after that.
What do I need to qualify?Applying
You need to be at least 21 with a valid driver's license and a clean recent driving record (no OVI/DUI or suspensions in the last three years). You'll also need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, walk several miles a day and climb stairs, be comfortable with a smartphone and GPS apps, pass a background check and drug screening, and work in all weather with at least one weekend day.
What happens after I apply?Applying
We email you a link to pick your own interview time. Everything after that — interview, paperwork, orientation and classroom training — comes to you by email from careers@kingshipoh.com, so keep an eye on your inbox (and your spam folder).
Can I interview over the phone?Applying
Yes. When you book, you choose either a phone interview (we call you) or an in-person interview in Solon. Interviews run every day, including Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Is there a background check and drug test?Applying
Yes, both. The background check starts once you finish setting up your Amazon account. For the drug test we'll give you a date and two locations to choose from — bring your photo ID and the barcode Fastest Labs sends you.
What does the job pay?Pay & benefits
$22.75 an hour to start.
When do I get my first paycheck?Pay & benefits
About 14 days after your first day of orientation. The payroll week runs Sunday through Saturday, and you're paid on the hours recorded in ADP — so clock in for orientation, classroom and every workday.
What benefits are there?Pay & benefits
Paid time off, health benefits for eligible employees, a 401K with a company match, up to $5,250 a year in tax-free tuition assistance, and a company vehicle.
Do I have to use my own car?Pay & benefits
No. You drive a KingShip van, provided and maintained by us.
How do I request time off?Pay & benefits
At least two weeks ahead: hand a paper request to the Manager on Duty, then enter it in ADP. Submitting a request isn't automatic approval, so don't assume it's approved until you hear back.
Who do I ask about a paycheck problem?Pay & benefits
Email dapayroll@kingshipoh.com. Allow 24 to 48 business hours for an answer.
What are the hours?Schedule
The standard day is 9:30 AM to about 8:00 PM. Report time is 9:30 AM sharp — there's no grace period, because one late driver delays the whole operation.
Do I have to work weekends?Schedule
Yes, at least one weekend day a week — Saturday or Sunday — unless the owners approve otherwise in advance. If weekends are hard for you, tell us when you apply; it helps whoever builds the schedule.
When do schedules come out?Schedule
Every Friday by close of business. If you need a change for the following week, tell Operations before the end of the day Friday.
What breaks do I get?Schedule
Two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute meal. The meal gets punched in both ADP and the Flex App; the paid breaks need no punch.
What if I can't make my shift?Schedule
Call AND text Dispatch at least two hours before your shift, and give the reason. A text on its own doesn't count. Two No Call / No Shows in a row is automatic termination, so always reach out.
Is orientation paid?Training
Yes. You're on the clock for orientation. It's short recorded videos with question stops after each section — nobody reads a packet to you, and nothing is off limits to ask.
What paperwork is there?Training
Two portals: Insight (your Hiring Coordinator sends the link) and Decisely (the invite goes to your KingShip email) for your I-9, W-4, direct deposit and benefits. Both have to be 100% complete before you can attend Amazon classroom training.
What is Amazon classroom training?Training
Two days, both starting at 8:00 AM sharp. Day 1 covers delivery procedures, safety, customer service and delivery tech, with an assessment at the end. Day 2 is a written assessment, a behind-the-wheel evaluation and your Amazon Driver Certification.
What if I'm late to classroom?Training
Amazon doesn't admit late arrivals, so you'd be rescheduled and your start date moves with it. Being rescheduled twice means being off-boarded — plan to be early.
How long until I'm on full routes?Training
About five weeks. Week 1 is classroom and on-road experience, weeks 2–4 are nursery levels where your stop count builds, and week 5 is standard routing. Amazon sets the stop count at every stage.
What should I wear and bring? On the road
Your KingShip uniform, rain and cold-weather gear, Zappos-approved closed-toe and closed-heel shoes that are comfortable and broken in, plus water and food for the day.
Is there a camera in the van?On the road
Yes — every van has the Netradyne Driver•i system. It isn't there to catch you out. If something happens, the footage tells your side of it.
Why can't I park in driveways? On the road
Backing out of driveways is where most delivery property damage happens. Park legally on the street, hazards on, passenger-side tires to the curb, and walk the path — never the lawn. It's a big part of why our property damage rate is so low.
What if there's a dog?On the road
If a dog is loose, stay in the vehicle and call the customer. If you can't reach them and the dog can't be secured, mark the package Unsafe Due to Dog. No package is worth a bite.
What if I'm struggling on my route? On the road
You get coaching and retraining first — not discipline. We would much rather build you up.
What if something isn't right at work?On the road
Start with your chain of command: Dispatch, then Operations. If it needs a higher review, email youmatter@kingshipoh.com — it's read only by the owners, and retaliation for reporting in good faith is never tolerated.
